Kokura Higashi-shinozaki Church

Welcome to Kokura Higashi-shinozaki Church.  We belong to the United Church of Christ, Japan, which is a united group of Protestant churches in Japan.

Our church started as a Methodist church back in 1904.  We started our mission in downtown Kokura, and moved to the present location in 1980.

The Sunday service begins at 10:15 a.m. following the Sunday school, which starts at 9:00.  Small chidren can wait at the Kids' Room upstairs while the service is given. We also have Bible study class and prayer meeting at 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, all the meetings including the Sunday service are conducted in Japanese.  Simultaneous translation into English is occasionally available by some church members who speak English, but it is not always expected to be possible depending on the presence and the absence of those members.

If you are looking for a Catholic church, you will find one about one kilometer to the north on the monorail street.  If you are looking for a church where the sermon is given in English, Kokura Anglican Church can be found in downtown, Kokura.
